What inspired you to choose this as a profession?
After three decades in the corporate world, I left my job five years ago to pursue my dream of empowering young people with insurance risk assessment skills and creating job opportunities. This led to the establishment of Techsurance Pvt Ltd, an insurance KPO. Looking back, the journey hasn't been easy, but it has been filled with valuable lessons. I'm proud to share that our team has grown from 7 to 150 members in just 18 months.
What did you do to achieve it?
Regardless of whether you're a salaried professional or an entrepreneur, every career path presents its challenges. Perseverance and resilience are key. There are no shortcuts. While my corporate background helped me secure initial business, meeting client expectations and delivering results is an entirely different challenge in itself.
What motivates you to volunteer as a mentor?
The support and guidance I received from numerous individuals on my journey have inspired me to pay it forward by sharing my experiences and lessons with young mentees. Engaging with them allows me to reconnect with my own youth and memories.
How have you benefited from mentoring?
In the early stages, I am focused on establishing a rapport with my mentee. This process is teaching me patience, empathy, and the ability to see things from the perspective of today's youth. I've come to realize the intriguing and interesting differences between Gen Z and myself. Building bridges will be a journey that requires time and effort.
